Video linkAirborne

iMOD/NG

IP video / data transmitter

Airborne H.264 video and data transmitter. 430–2700 MHz, 20 Mbps, AES-256, about 150 ms end to end.

Problem
The operator loses the picture the moment a jammer covers the video band, or the feed lags so much that the aircraft cannot be flown by camera.
Solution
The crew can move the video channel anywhere in 430–2700 MHz during flight. Latency stays near 150 ms and the stream is AES-256 encrypted IP video that any ground software can consume.

  • video / data bitrate20 Mbps
  • end-to-end latency~150 ms
  • weight300 g

DEMOD/NG

Digital H.264 video receiver

Ground H.264 video receiver with dual RF input. Sensitivity to −140 dBm in the lab, Ethernet / USB / SPI output, 58 g.

Problem
At long range or in interference the picture breaks up, and legacy receivers need extra boxes to get video into mission software.
Solution
Two RF inputs for antenna diversity and lab-tested sensitivity down to −140 dBm hold the link longer. Video leaves the board as IP over Ethernet or USB, straight into the ground station.

NV/5

FHSS control modem

Frequency-hopping control and telemetry modem in the 433 / 868 MHz ISM bands. Up to 300 kbps, AES-256, Ethernet / UART, 22 g. One unit on each side of the link.

Problem
When control and video share one channel, one jammer takes both. The aircraft must stay commandable even while the video link is under attack.
Solution
NV/5 runs command and telemetry on its own frequency-hopping sub-GHz link, independent of the wideband video channel. Hopping is automatic across the configured band and every frame is AES-256 encrypted.

Hub Board V5.0

Bus and protocol conversion

15 g interface board that converts between the buses used on the platform and gives the radios one interface to the flight controller and payload.

Problem
Autopilot, payload and radios speak different buses. Wiring them together takes weeks of integration work and adds cables and failure points to the airframe.
Solution
The Hub Board sits in the middle. It converts protocols and physical interfaces so iMOD/NG, NV/5, the flight controller and the payload connect through one board with standard connectors.

Booster SubGHz

RF power amplifier

10 W sub-GHz power amplifier, 19 dB gain, in a shielded milled aluminium enclosure. Extends the NV/5 control link range from the ground station. 133 g.

Problem
Control range is limited by the modem's own output. At long distance or in heavy interference, ground antennas alone cannot close the link.
Solution
The booster adds 19 dB of gain to the NV/5 ground unit, up to 10 W output, in an enclosure that keeps the amplifier's own emissions away from the receivers next to it.
